At the Beach
William Dewey Loudermilk

There are few things that can compete with a day spent at the beach
the sun, the sand, the salt in the air, beautiful women are everywhere
Four to six foot with offshore winds, paddling out with my friends
and when it’s all said and done, another day spent having fun

Ignore the fools in their cubicles
preaching that fun is futile
when they’re dead and their wealth out of reach
they’ll wish they spent more time at the beach

Maybe one thing your life has been missing, have you ever gone squirrel fishing
The first one I caught I made it rag-doll, I was laughing so hard I had to fall
so even if the waves are small, or even if there’s no surf at all
fun times are within reach, spending more time at the beach

Cause when it’s all said and done
Life is best when you make it fun
So laugh and learn and love and teach
and spend more time at the beach

I’ll tell you now what I believe is the truth, why it’s eye candy not eye fruit
Eye candy might look like your type, but eye fruit is only sweet when it’s ripe
So like it or not, bikinis are the rage, even if they only they hide is the age
so if you are ever left in doubt, go grab your board and paddle back out

Cause when it’s all said and done
Life is best when you make it fun
So laugh and learn and love and teach
and spend more time at the beach
